About Winterwood Amstaffs, Fort Worth TX Family Breeder
A small American Staffordshire Terrier program, run out of our home in North Fort Worth.
Winterwood Amstaffs is owned and run by Josiah Carter and his wife, out of our home in North Fort Worth. We're not a commercial kennel — puppies are whelped and raised inside the house, and every dog in our program is a family dog first.
We started this program around the American Staffordshire Terrier specifically — a breed we think is badly misunderstood, often lumped in with breeds it isn't, and capable of being an exceptional, people-oriented family dog when it's bred thoughtfully. That means health testing every dog before breeding (see our health standards), keeping litters small, and being honest with every family about what this breed actually needs.
Our current stud, Flash, and our female Brie are the current faces of the program — we'll keep adding more of their story, and the story of the dogs that came before them, as we build this page out further.
